Animoca Brands has obtained a VASP license from Dubai’s VARA, allowing the company to expand its crypto operations in the Middle East. The license permits broker-dealer services and investment management for institutional and qualified investors. VARA regulates digital assets in Dubai’s mainland and free zones. The license was issued on Feb. 5.
Animoca Brands, known for supporting Web3 ecosystems like The Sandbox, acquired a gaming company in January. The company’s investment portfolio includes over 600 digital asset initiatives. Other crypto businesses, like BitGo, have also established regulated operations in Dubai. BitGo obtained a broker-dealer license in October 2025, allowing for digital-asset trading services.
