Sims Ltd. reported a loss of A$29.9 million in the first half, compared to a profit of A$30.8 million last year. Despite increased sales, the company’s loss per share was 15.5 cents, down from last year’s 15.8 cents profit. However, underlying net profit rose to A$60.0 million from A$35.1 million in the prior year. EBITDA fell 26.2% to A$143.8 million, while underlying EBITDA increased 24% to A$249.8 million. Sales revenue grew 3.7% to A$3.78 billion. The Board declared an interim dividend of 14 cents per share. Sims shares in Australia traded 5.6% lower at A$20.09.
