Aker Solutions secures a five-year contract from Aker BP for maintenance, modification, and operation services on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The contract’s value is estimated to be between Nkr8bn ($841.32m) and Nkr12bn. The agreement includes options for two additional four-year extensions starting from March 1, 2026, covering various assets like Alvheim, Edvard Grieg, and Ivar Aasen.
The alliance aims to enhance project execution and delivery through the next-generation MMO alliance. Aker Solutions CEO Kjetel Digre highlights the contract’s significance, particularly in serving the Yggdrasil Area, setting new benchmarks for remote operations and low-manned production platforms. The approach focuses on adopting new technology, advanced methods, and cost reduction.
Aker BP CEO Karl Johnny Hersvik emphasizes the need for increased productivity on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, achieved through integrated teams, data-driven workflows, and AI utilization. The project is expected to provide substantial local benefits, stimulating activity within the Norwegian industry. Engineering and project management activities will be based in Stavanger, Sandnessjøen, and Mumbai.
The project also offers work opportunities for offshore personnel. The contract will be recorded as intake in the first quarter of 2026, estimating the workload over the fixed five-year term. Aker Solutions had previously signed a six-year frame agreement with ConocoPhillips Skandinavia for brownfield maintenance and modification services offshore Norway.
