Ten innovative Korean startups were chosen to collaborate with OpenAI at a recent event in Silicon Valley. The event, supported by the Korean Ministry of SMEs and Startups, aimed to foster innovation in artificial intelligence. Out of 220 companies, 14 South Korean startups were featured, with 10 selected for a collaboration program.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman participated in a Q&A session at the event, sharing insights on the future of AI technology. He emphasized the importance of startups focusing on fundamental business principles rather than technology alone. Ten standout Korean startups, including ASLEEP and Cliwant, were chosen for collaboration, leveraging AI in various sectors.
Selected startups will receive support, including up to 200 million won in funds, credits for OpenAI services, and expert mentoring. Minister Oh Young-joo expressed optimism about the collaboration’s potential to elevate Korean startups globally. This event signifies Korea’s progress in AI innovation and the power of international collaboration in driving collective progress.
Notable participants in the event included DK Medi Info, Marina Chain, Next Payments, Nine Watts, Run Korean in Korean, Turing, Waddle, and We Laser. These startups are set to make significant advancements in their respective industries through AI integration. The collaboration program signifies a new era for Korean startups in the global AI landscape.
