Amgen testing new injectable weight loss drug MariTide, showing promising results

From CNBC:

Amgen is testing an injectable weight loss drug, MariTide, that activates GLP-1 and blocks GIP activity, unlike competitors. Early data shows promising results from a small trial, with patients losing 14.5% of their body weight. The drug may offer longer-lasting weight loss and requires less frequent dosing than current options like Wegovy and Zepbound. Amgen’s phase two trial will provide more clarity on the drug’s effectiveness compared to existing treatments.
