Elon Musk announced that xAI’s chatbot Grok will be available to all premium subscribers of his social media platform X. It was previously only accessible to X Premium subscribers. Musk also revealed that Grok will be open-sourced in an effort to allow the public to experiment with the technology’s code. Elon Musk aims to compete with OpenAI, an organization he helped create in 2015. OpenAI and Google prefer a more secretive approach to protect their technology. Musk even joked that OpenAI should change its name to ClosedAI. OpenAI has accused Musk of filing a suit out of jealousy and a desire for commercial success that OpenAI has achieved.
