A federal judge in Texas transferred a lawsuit challenging a rule on credit card late fees to Washington, D.C. Half of the business groups involved are based in Washington, as are their lawyers and the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The rule is set to take effect in May, affecting fees that cost consumers $12 billion a year. The rule limits late fees to $8 for credit card issuers with over 1 million accounts.
