The S&P 500 closed at a record high to mark its strongest first quarter performance in five years. Initial unemployment filings for the week were lower than expected at 210,000. The GDP estimate for the fourth quarter was 3.4% year-over-year. US stock market shows little change, but all three benchmark indexes ended the month and quarter on a winning note. Jerome Powell is set to speak on Friday and the market will be watching February’s personal consumption expenditures data. US indexes closed at 4:00 p.m. while the stock market will be closed for Good Friday.
