The Dow and S&P 500 fell as investor concerns over interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve grew due to strong manufacturing data. The Nasdaq closed slightly higher while the S&P 500 technology sector gained. An increase in the Institute for Supply Management’s manufacturing PMI to 50.3 suggested sector recovery. Semiconductor index rose 1.2%. Benchmark Treasury yields hit two-week highs. U.S. rate futures saw a 58% chance of a rate cut in June. Majority of S&P 500 sectors saw losses, energy sector gained. AT&T shares fell 0.6% after announcing a massive data leak. Job report and more Fed speakers to provide clarity this week.
