OpenAI’s video generator Sora has produced its first music video, set to a song by August Kamp. The dreamy video features glowing crystals in a forest and electronic equipment on a rock in a pond. Kamp describes it as her heart and soul. OpenAI has not disclosed the prompts used for the video.

Creative professionals have tried out OpenAI’s Sora, resulting in quirky videos. One short film follows a man with a balloon for a head, while another showcases imaginary creatures like the girafflamingo. Artist Paul Trillo used Sora to imagine what happened to The Golden Record launched into space in 1977.

OpenAI’s former CEO and current CTO, Mira Murati, discussed Sora’s technology in a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal. Murati avoided questions about Sora’s training data, stating it was built on publicly available data. The AI video generator is expected to be released later this year.
