Giant radomes at Buckley Space Force Base house massive satellite dishes. Colorado’s aerospace industry has grown 88% in the past two decades, supporting 29,000 jobs. Voyager Space CEO Dylan Taylor cites Denver’s talent pool and government support as keys to success. Companies like Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and Ursa Major call the region home. Orbit Fab, a space startup in Colorado, relocated to the state for its aerospace workforce and now focuses on building “gas stations” in space to refuel satellites. SpaceX’s Starship rocket system will launch Voyager’s Starlab space station, a joint venture with Airbus. The Denver-Boulder region’s military presence allows for innovation and collaboration with local defense contractors. Colorado has more private aerospace employees per capita than any other state.
