Google has announced it will be shutting down VPN services in Google One due to lack of usage. Originally launched in 2020 for Android users, VPN was offered to iOS and Mac users in 2022. The service was included in the premium 2TB storage plan priced at $9.99/month or $99.99/year.
Despite the shutdown, Pixel 7 users will still have access to VPN services with a 5-year guarantee. An upgrade in VPN services for Pixel 8 devices will soon be introduced to Pixel 7, 7 Pro, 7a, and Fold in June. The move aims to refocus on more popular features within Google One.
