Meta Platforms, Inc. is working on a new education-specific hub for Quest VR headsets, offering apps and tools for students aged 13 and older. The platform will make it easier for educators to access various educational features and manage multiple headsets in classrooms.

The new VR platform aims to provide a more engaging and immersive learning experience in classrooms, controlled by teachers. Meta will collaborate with companies like Roblox to develop VR learning content. A “shared mode” feature will ensure user privacy and control to prevent unauthorized access to the platform.

Meta’s President, Nick Clegg, believes metaverse technologies like VR can transform education, offering practical and immersive learning experiences for students. The educational platform will launch by the end of 2024, accessible to schools with Meta’s Quest for Business subscription. Details will be revealed in the coming months.
