ChatGPT Plus memory feature is rolling out almost everywhere

OpenAI announced a big upgrade for ChatGPT allowing it to retain memories from conversations. Users can instruct ChatGPT to remember specifics about themselves or let it pick up details from chats. The conversation memory feature is a step towards ChatGPT becoming a personal AI assistant, but it won’t be available in Europe or Korea due to privacy concerns.
Users can give ChatGPT memories to improve interactions, such as specifying preferences for meetings, business, family, or education-related tasks. Memories can be updated and managed, but the feature is not available to paying subscribers in Europe or Korea. OpenAI is working on privacy and safety standards to ensure sensitive information is not stored without explicit permission.
ChatGPT memory privacy is more secure for Team and Enterprise users, as memories and workspace information are excluded from training models. Users have control over how memories are used in chats, and Enterprise owners can turn off memory features for their organization. ChatGPT Plus users in Europe may have to wait for additional updates on data handling before fully benefiting from the memory feature.
