Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are cost-effective tools for investors seeking to track indexes or leverage expert management to outperform the market. ETFs are traded throughout the day on exchanges. In April 2024, the worst-performing ETFs included VanEck Crypto & Blockchain Innovators UCITS ETF (DAPP) and iShares Blockchain Technology UCITS ETF (BLKC), sourced from Morningstar Direct.

The worst-performing ETF in April was the VanEck Crypto & Blockchain Innovators UCITS ETF, which dropped by 22.69%. The iShares Blockchain Technology UCITS ETF saw a 19.23% loss, while the Invesco CoinShares Global Blockchain UCITS ETF fell by 15.95%. The Invesco Solar Energy UCITS ETF lost 9.55%, and the Xtrackers MSCI Europe Information Technology ESG Screened UCITS ETF declined by 7.84%.

The HSBC MSCI Indonesia UCITS ETF was the sixth-worst performer, dropping by 7.78%, followed by the Amundi MSCI Indonesia UCITS ETF, which also saw a 7.78% loss. The Xtrackers MSCI Indonesia Swap UCITS ETF had a 7.77% decline, and the Invesco Real Estate S&P US Select Sector UCITS ETF dropped by 7.72%. The WisdomTree Cloud Computing UCITS ETF saw a 7.48% loss in April.
