From CNBC: 2024-05-09 10:13:48
McDonald’s U.S. franchisees will start contributing to a digital marketing fund in 2024 to boost its digital business. The company plans to invest millions in its loyalty program and new ordering channels. Loyalty members brought in $6 billion in sales in Q1, with over 34 million active customers in the U.S.
The new fund will be funded by franchisees, based on a percentage of digital sales. The change is expected to lead to higher cash flow for U.S. restaurants starting in 2025. Other markets such as the U.K., Canada, Australia, and Germany will also contribute to the global digital marketing fund.
