SoftBank’s Arm Holdings plans to develop AI chips and launch products in 2025. Arm will set up an AI chip division and aims to have a prototype by spring 2025. Initial development costs, potentially in the hundreds of billions of yen, will be covered by Arm and SoftBank. Negotiations with TSMC are ongoing for manufacturing. Arm is expanding into the data center market to reduce reliance on Nvidia.
