Apple is close to finalizing a deal with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT features into the iPhone, as reported. If successful, ChatGPT could be part of Apple’s iOS 18 update. Discussions with Alphabet Inc. about incorporating the Gemini chatbot are in progress but not as advanced.

Amidst talks of integrating AI features, Apple is reportedly expanding its AI division. The company has been recruiting Google experts to bolster its team of AI and machine learning professionals.

In addition to recruiting talent, Apple has acquired two AI startups in Zurich, Switzerland. This move has led to the establishment of a secretive “Vision Lab” in the area, indicating a deeper push into AI technology.
