Ilya Sutskever, co-founder of OpenAI, is leaving the company, which produces the ChatGPT chatbot that has captivated tech giants. Jakub Pachocki will take over as chief scientist, having previously contributed to GPT-4 and OpenAI Five. Sutskever left to pursue a new project, following a turbulent history with CEO Sam Altman. OpenAI recently announced the release of a new model, GPT-4o, for voice conversations and text-image interactions. ChatGPT quickly gained 100 million users, but traffic has fluctuated since its launch in 2022. Sutskever is a well-known AI researcher with a background at Google Brain and Stanford.
