From NVIDIA: 2024-05-15 09:00:42
In a new partnership with NVIDIA, Mozilla Firefox incorporates RTX Video technology to enhance video quality on Windows PCs and workstations using AI. RTX Video includes Super Resolution and HDR features to upscale video, remove artifacts, and improve dynamic range. Firefox now supports these features in its latest version, v126, joining other browsers like Chrome and Edge.
RTX Video, announced at CES 2023, uses AI to enhance videos played on browser platforms like YouTube and Disney+. RTX Video Super Resolution upscales low-res videos for clearer imagery, while RTX Video HDR uses neural networks to add HDR info to SDR content. With 90% of online video in 1080p or lower, RTX Video can improve most content.
To enable RTX Video in Mozilla Firefox, update to the latest GeForce RTX driver, ensure Windows HDR is enabled, and configure RTX Video settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel. RTX Video is supported on GeForce RTX GPUs connected to HDR monitors or TVs. Firefox now offers AI-enhanced video quality for users with compatible GPUs, making online videos sharper and more vibrant.
