OpenAI details voice selection process for ChatGPT, working with casting professionals and actors to choose 5 voices from 400 options. Actors are paid as long as their voices are used in products. Sky voice is not an imitation of Johansson but belongs to a different actress using her natural voice.

Johansson declined offer to voice ChatGPT system last September but voice debuted without her knowledge. She expressed shock and anger over voice similarity to hers, leading to demands for details on voice creation process. Some users disappointed by suspension of Sky voice, which remains unavailable with no timeline for return.
