Consumer stocks were down Wednesday afternoon, with XLP dropping 0.6% and XLY falling 0.4%. Redbook US same-store sales grew by 6.3% in the week ended May 25.
Advance Auto Parts reported a decline in Q1 comparable-store sales, causing shares to drop over 10%. Trump is considering Elon Musk for an advisory role. Tesla shares rose slightly.
Titan Machinery shares rose 3.3% after CFO Robert Larsen’s recent stock purchase. Abercrombie & Fitch stock surged nearly 23% after raising revenue and margin guidance for fiscal 2024.
