Hitachi, Microsoft Announce Collaboration – Quick Facts

Hitachi and Microsoft have announced a multi-billion dollar collaboration over the next three years. Hitachi aims to grow its Lumada business, targeting revenue of 2.65 trillion yen in fiscal 2024. The alliance will integrate Microsoft cloud services like Azure Open AI, Dynamics 365, and GitHub Copilot into Lumada Solutions to drive growth.
Hitachi plans to invest 300 billion yen in GenAI to enhance productivity and capture new growth opportunities by 2024. President and CEO Keiji Kojima emphasized Hitachi’s focus on AI transformation.
In addition to technology integration, Hitachi will provide training to over 50 thousand GenAI Professionals using resources from Microsoft. This partnership aims to accelerate Hitachi’s digital transformation journey.
