Ford Motor’s U.S. new vehicle sales increased by 11.2% in May compared to the same month last year, with hybrid and all-electric vehicles seeing a 65% spike. However, sales in those segments only accounted for 14% of the total sales. Ford is facing challenges as its Model E electric vehicle division continues to lose millions of dollars per quarter, with a reported loss of $1.32 billion on 10,000 vehicles wholesaled from January through March.
