Alphabet, Google’s parent company, announces Eli Lilly CFO Anat Ashkenazi as new chief financial officer effective July 31, replacing current CFO Ruth Porat. Ashkenazi had a 23-year career at Eli Lilly and will help fuel innovation and growth at Alphabet.
Porat, with a nearly three-decade background at Morgan Stanley, joined Google in 2015, transforming it into one of the most valuable companies globally. Strategic leadership changes have been underway since 2023, with recent restructuring in Google’s finance unit to prioritize investments in AI.
Top executives at Google include Philipp Schindler, Prabhakar Raghavan, and Thomas Kurian. The company has seen a shuffle in leadership beyond Porat, including departures of Susan Wojcicki, Robert Kyncl, and Geoffrey Hinton since 2023. Google’s stock slightly rose in pre-market trading on Tuesday.
