Indian benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, closed higher on June 12, with Nifty above 23,300. The Sensex was up 149.98 points at 76,606.57, and the Nifty was up 58.20 points at 23,323. Coal India, Power Grid, SBI Life Insurance, Tech Mahindra, and Eicher Motors were top gainers on the Nifty, while losers included Britannia, HUL, M&M, Titan Company, and Tata Consumer. Telecom, media, capital goods, metal, oil & gas, and power sectors saw gains, with BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices each up 1 percent by market close.
