Weekly jobless claims were higher than expected, signaling some labor market loosening. Nine portfolio stocks were highlighted that would benefit from rate cuts.

Broadcom stock surged 13% after an artificial intelligence-driven earnings beat, raising full-year guidance and announcing a 10-for-1 stock split. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will reportedly drop coverage of weight loss drugs for Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk in 2025, but this doesn’t change our investment thesis for Lilly. Shares of Eli Lilly are up 1% on Thursday.
