Elon Musk filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, claiming breach of contract and fiduciary duty. A hearing was scheduled in San Francisco to consider dismissal. The lawsuit alleged the transformation of OpenAI into a for-profit entity controlled by Microsoft. Musk’s startup xAI announced a $6 billion funding round last month. OpenAI was ranked first on CNBC’s Disruptor 50 list in 2023. Musk’s xAI seeks to understand the universe and released a chatbot called Grok. Musk and Altman have not commented on the lawsuit.
