Oracle, Microsoft, and OpenAI are collaborating to expand Microsoft Azure AI to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to meet the rising demand for AI solutions. This move may be influenced by Apple integrating Apple Intelligence into its new operating systems. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman expressed excitement for the collaboration.
At WWDC, Apple unveiled its Apple Intelligence utilizing on-device processing and Private Cloud Compute to handle complex data. The incorporation of ChatGPT will generate more traffic for OpenAI. ChatGPT currently serves over 100 million users monthly, a number expected to surge with Apple Intelligence’s launch.
OCI’s AI capabilities allow startups and enterprises to build and train models in Oracle’s distributed cloud. OCI Supercluster can scale up to 64k Nvidia GPUs or GB200 Grace Blackwell Superchips for LLM training. Larry Ellison, Oracle Chairman, highlighted OCI as the fastest and most cost-effective AI infrastructure.
Apple Intelligence’s launch will drive AI demand, but OpenAI’s partnership with Microsoft and Oracle is also driven by the incoming wave of Copilot+ PCs. This collaboration will place OpenAI in a prime position to cater to the expanding AI market.
