Mixed day for tech stocks with Apple delaying AI platform launch

Tech stocks saw mixed performance on Friday, with XLK down 0.2% and XSD up 0.1%. The Philadelphia Semiconductor index fell by 1.2%. Apple is delaying the launch of its AI platform in the EU due to uncertainties around new competition rules, boosting its shares by 0.3%.

Alphabet’s Google is pausing real-money games on Play Store globally due to lack of centralized app approval. Google’s parent company, Alphabet, saw shares rise by 2.1%. Microsoft-backed OpenAI acquired Rockset for real-time analytics capabilities, leading to a 0.6% increase in Microsoft’s shares.
