In the first half of 2024, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq are both up double digits, with Nvidia leading the charge, up 156%. Nvidia’s revenue sources include data center services, gaming, and professional visualization, with total revenue hitting $26 billion in Q1 fiscal 2025.
Nvidia’s gross profit margin for Q1 was 78.4%, driven by high demand for AI chips and the company’s pricing power. Operating expenses rose 39% year over year, but net income grew by 628%, reaching $14.9 billion. Nvidia’s balance sheet shows $31.4 billion in cash and equivalents, more than tripling its outstanding debt.
Despite Nvidia’s market cap hitting $3.1 trillion, the stock is considered a good buy, with profits and earnings per share growing over 300%. Its P/E multiple of 73.9 is lower than a year ago, making it more reasonably valued now. The Motley Fool Stock Advisor team has identified Nvidia as a strong investment opportunity.
