Mixed stock market with S&P 500 slightly up and Nasdaq 100 up due to Nvidia rebound

Stock indexes today are mixed, with the S&P 500 up slightly and the Dow Jones down, while the Nasdaq 100 is up. Fed Governor Bowman’s hawkish comments pushed bond yields higher and are bearish for stocks. Home price index eased to +7.20% y/y in April. Markets are discounting rate cuts but positive Q1 earnings reports may support stocks. Nvidia and Carnival are up, but Pool Corp and Norfolk Southern are down. Earnings reports expected from Carnival, FedEx, and others.
