Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 Boeing 737-9 MAX with a gap in the fuselage is under investigation by NTSB after making an emergency landing in Portland, Oregon.

U.S. prosecutors plan to seek a guilty plea from Boeing over charges related to fatal crashes of 737 Max planes, which could complicate future government contracts for the major defense contractor.

DOJ is reviewing Boeing’s violation of a 2021 settlement after a door panel blew out of new 737 Max 9 midair during an Alaska Airlines flight in January, leading to a potential plea deal with additional fine and monitoring requirements.
