Atico Mining Corporation has released the results of the Definitive Feasibility Study for its La Plata Project in Ecuador, including initial probable mineral reserves, updated indicated and inferred resources, and average annual production figures over an 8.1 year mine life. The study also revealed an initial capital expenditure of US$91 million, an after-tax NPV of US$93 million, and an IRR of 25.1%.
CEO and Director Fernando E. Ganoza emphasized the importance of the study in providing a foundation for the continued development of the La Plata project. Metallurgical testwork has shown that the production of both a zinc concentrate and a bulk concentrate will yield the best economic performance for the operation. Opportunities for further exploration success in regional target areas are also being considered.
