Tech stocks had a mixed day, with XLK down 0.8% and XSD up 1%. The Philadelphia Semiconductor index also decreased by 0.3%. Shopify is expected to see strong growth under new leadership, prompting BofA Securities to upgrade the stock to buy, resulting in a 7.4% jump in shares.

The FTC is probing Amazon’s hiring of executives from Adept, while UK regulators are investigating Microsoft’s deal with Inflection. Amazon shares rose by 0.2%, but Microsoft saw a 1.5% decline in its shares.
