Eve showcases full-scale prototype of its electric “flying taxi” in Brazil. The eVTOL aircraft aims to enter service by 2026. Ground tests started in July with expectations to fly by early 2025. The final version will seat four passengers and a pilot, with certification expected by 2026.
Eve faces challenges with power grids for flying cars. New investments include nearly $400 million from NYSE debut, a $92 million loan from BNDES, and a recent $94 million fundraising round. Investors include United Airlines, BAE Systems, Thales, Rolls-Royce, Acciona, Bradesco BBI, Embraer, and Japan’s Nidec.
The company has nearly 3,000 potential orders ahead of production. Clients like United, Global Crossing, and Azorra have shown interest. With secure funding until 2027, Eve plans to convert potential orders into firm orders in the future.
