In 1986, Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) debuted on Nasdaq at $21 per share. As of Aug. 6, the price has soared to $399.61, marking a 19x increase and propelling Microsoft into the elite $3 trillion market capitalization club.
Despite the lack of recent stock splits, Microsoft executed seven splits in the 1990s. Its last split was in February 2003. If you owned one share at the IPO, after nine splits, you’d now hold 288 shares with a value of over $115,000 as of Aug. 6.
