Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) is making significant strides in the CPU market, with a recent report from Bernstein showing growth in both unit and revenue share. AMD’s shares are up more than 2% intra-day today, reflecting its strong performance.

In the notebook CPU segment, AMD gained an additional point in unit share during Q2/24, reaching around 20.3%. Its revenue share also rose by nearly three points to 17.7%, indicating a solid presence in this market.

AMD’s progress extends to the desktop CPU market as well, where it saw a slight increase in revenue share. While Intel still dominates this segment, AMD’s gradual market share gains are putting pressure on its competitor.

Recent strategic pricing adjustments have contributed to AMD’s market share expansion, with notebook ASPs rising by 13% quarter-over-quarter. Despite the increase, AMD’s ASPs are still 26% below peak levels during the pandemic, while Intel’s notebook ASPs have declined by 2% over the same period.
