China’s Sinopec reports a 2.6% rise in net profit for the first half of the year, reaching 37.1 billion yuan ($5.21 billion) due to higher oil prices. Sales dropped 1.1% to 1.58 trillion yuan, while ethylene production fell 5.5%. Capital expenditure was 55.9 billion yuan with an increase in crude oil output.
