GM folding its all-electric BrightDrop vans into Chevrolet brand

General Motors is integrating its BrightDrop electric vans into the Chevrolet brand, aiming to boost sales and reach. The move will expand the network of dealers selling and servicing the vans. Dealers must meet specific requirements to sell commercial EVs. BrightDrop vans, rebranded as Chevrolet BrightDrop, are expected to increase volume and access for customers. BrightDrop was initially launched as a subsidiary before being integrated into GM’s fleet business last year. While the company had high revenue expectations, sales fell short in 2023. GM sold only about 500 BrightDrop vans that year, with 746 units sold in the first half of 2024. The vans are produced at GM’s CAMI Assembly plant in Ontario.
