Dollar Tree (NASDAQ:DLTR) shares plummeted over 19% after disappointing fiscal Q2 2024 results and weak future guidance were released. Earnings per share (EPS) came in at $0.67, missing the expected $1.06, with revenue of $7.37 billion falling short of the $7.5 billion estimate. Comparable sales grew by just 0.7%, a significant drop from last year’s 6.9% growth. Family Dollar saw a 0.1% sales decline, while Dollar Tree had a 1.3% increase, both missing expectations. Gross profit margin improved to 30%, slightly exceeding analysts’ expectations. Full 2025-year EPS is projected between $5.20 and $5.60, below the Street estimate of $6.55.
