Hemlo Explorers Provides Update on Pic Project Option

From GlobeNewswire: 2024-09-16 07:00:00

Hemlo Explorers Inc. updates shareholders on Barrick Gold Inc.’s progress on the Pic Project, with detailed trench-scale mapping of the Wire Lake Zone to understand gold mineralization structures. The gold corridor spans 2.7 kilometers with 16,597 meters of drilling historically. Barrick completed helicopter-supported mapping in June 2024 and collected 103 samples for analysis.

Barrick continues its focus on the Wire Lake Zone’s gold potential, with boots-on-the-ground mapping and sampling. The company spent $4.5 million against a requirement of less than $2 million since signing the option agreement. Trench-scale mapping linked historical trenches, providing insights into structural controls on mineralization. Assays are pending for gold and whole rock samples.

The Wire Lake Zone has seen significant historical drilling and recent mapping efforts to understand mineralization structures. Barrick’s dedication to understanding the gold potential is evident in their investments and fieldwork. CEO Brian Howlett notes the progress made by Barrick in the first 22 months of the agreement, exceeding minimum requirements. Dr. Lesley Rose is the Qualified Person responsible for technical accuracy.
