The Malaysia stock market saw gains ahead of Malaysia Day, with the Kuala Lumpur Composite Index rising almost 15 points to above 1,650. The Asian markets are forecasted to remain steady before the Federal Reserve’s Monetary Policy decision. The KLCI ended higher on Friday, driven by financial, plantation, and telecom shares. Axiata, CIMB Group, and Genting were among the active gainers. Wall Street opened mixed on Monday, with the Dow hitting a record high, while the NASDAQ and S&P 500 closed with slight declines. Investors are cautious ahead of the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy announcement, which is expected to include an interest rate cut. Oil prices rose due to concerns about tight supply and a weak dollar, with WTI crude oil futures ending at $70.09 a barrel.
