A new AI innovation hub for developers has launched in Novation City, Tunisia, offering training and resources to drive AI adoption. The hub is part of NVIDIA’s goal to train 100,000 developers in Africa within three years. Novation City hosts activities like hackathons and specialized training sessions, fostering an environment for AI learning and deployment.

Tunisia, known for valuing STEM education, is a thriving ecosystem for research and innovation. Novation City and NVIDIA aim to enhance this ecosystem with the new AI innovation hub. Funded by various agencies and enterprises, the hub supports Tunisia’s national strategy for AI and digitalization, positioning the country as a digital leader in Africa. The University of Tunis recently launched a public AI institute.

The concept of sovereign AI, where nations produce AI using their own resources, is crucial for Tunisia and other African countries. The free DLI training at the AI hub will upskill the next generation of African AI experts, contributing to technological advancement. Novation City offers facilities supporting various industries, and ESPRIT University in Tunisia is actively involved in AI education and research with NVIDIA DLI training. Similar initiatives are planned for Kenya and Nigeria.
