Budapest, Hungary celebrates the third anniversary of the world’s first statue dedicated to Satoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous inventor of Bitcoin (BTC). The monument, set to be unveiled in 2021, is a powerful symbol of collective innovation and progress in the cryptocurrency space.

The “Statue of Satoshi” depicts the upper half of a figure with a reflective face covered by a hoodie adorned with the Bitcoin logo. It embodies the idea that “we are all Satoshi,” highlighting how technological advancements are the result of collective efforts by many individuals.

Hungarian cryptocurrency advocates such as Mr. Coin, Kripto Akademia, Blockchain Hungary Association, and Blockchain Budapest have supported the creation of the “Statue of Satoshi,” emphasizing the collaborative spirit driving technological progress in the crypto industry.

Despite Bitcoin’s trillion-dollar-plus valuation and its immense impact on the financial market, the statue in Budapest remains the only known monument dedicated to Satoshi Nakamoto, the elusive creator of the pioneering cryptocurrency.

As Bitcoin’s 16th anniversary since the release of the Bitcoin Whitepaper approaches in October, the cryptocurrency community eagerly anticipates commemorating the pivotal document that laid the foundation for the digital asset’s groundbreaking technology.

Hungary recently enacted a new law on crypto assets to align its national regulatory framework with the European Union’s MiCA regulations. This legislation covers the issuance, offering, trading, supervision, and sanctioning of crypto assets and service providers, enhancing the country’s legal environment for the digital asset industry.
