OceanFirst Bank will invest $14 million in a loan subsidy fund to settle a U.S. government lawsuit over illegal redlining. The proposed settlement with the New Jersey-based bank’s unit was filed in federal court on Wednesday. The DOJ accused OceanFirst of discriminating against borrowers in minority neighborhoods from 2018 to 2022.
