Ted Colbert, former CEO of Boeing’s defense unit, is leaving the company, announced CEO Kelly Ortberg. Colbert’s departure comes amid production problems and cost overruns in Boeing’s defense, space, and security division, which generated nearly 40% of the company’s revenue in the first half of the year. Chief Operating Officer Steve Parker will temporarily take over Colbert’s duties. Boeing’s Starliner is returning from space without NASA astronauts. SpaceX’s Crew-9 will bring the astronauts back instead. CNBC reached out to Colbert for comment but did not receive an immediate response.
