EasyA, a Web3 education platform, secures a “Decentralized Futures Grant” from the Web3 Foundation for its new project, EasyA x University. The initiative aims to promote blockchain innovation by engaging university talent and developing a Polkadot-focused educational program.
Founded by graduates from prestigious universities, EasyA has over 1 million downloads and has garnered recognition as Apple’s App of the Day. The app actively brings developers into Web3 through hackathons in cities like San Francisco, London, and Singapore.
The new university program by EasyA will provide workshops, hackathons, and grants to help students develop projects within the Polkadot ecosystem. The nine-month project seeks to bolster Polkadot’s presence in academic circles and enlarge its developer base.
Web3 professionals are in high demand, offering competitive salaries and numerous growth opportunities in roles such as finance specialists, product managers, and developers. Companies seek individuals with both technical expertise and a deep understanding of decentralization and blockchain principles.
The Web3 Foundation allocates a prize pool of 10 million DOT tokens, approximately $65 million, to support the rollout of the Join-Accumulate Machine (JAM) upgrade for the Polkadot ecosystem. Participants must meet specific criteria such as producing blocks and passing security audits.
EasyA has been instrumental in driving developer activity on Polkadot, with nearly 1,000 startups emerging from their hackathons this year. The app, known for its user-friendly interface and engaging learning approach, is popular among aspiring Web3 developers.
EasyA’s alumni have launched startups valued at over $2.5 billion and received funding from top venture capital firms. Cognition AI, founded by EasyA hackathon winner Walden Yan, reached a $2 billion valuation in April. The demanding nature of blockchain technology and its diverse consensus algorithms present challenges to newcomers.
The intricate nature of blockchain technology, encompassing decentralized systems and various consensus algorithms, creates a steep learning curve for developers. The multitude of networks with distinct programming languages and tools further complicates the entry for newcomers in the field.
