Demonstrators gathered outside a closed Starbucks location in Seattle, Washington. The 500th store, in Bellingham, Washington, joined the Starbucks Workers United union. Over 11,000 baristas have joined since the first store unionized in 2021. Negotiations have been collaborative with CEO Brian Niccol leading discussions for a labor deal. Baristas in Bellingham sent a letter outlining their reasons for organizing. Starbucks representatives have not responded to comments.
