Since ‘s founding, speculation about the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto has grown, with an upcoming HBO documentary claiming to reveal the truth. Prediction market Polymarket is now taking bets on potential candidates, with Len Sassaman leading at 45% likelihood, followed by Hal Finney at 15%. Other candidates like Nick Szabo and Adam Back have lower odds. Craig Wright, who has claimed to be Nakamoto, is only at 1% chance.

Sassaman, a cryptographer with ties to cypherpunk communities, has been seen as a strong candidate despite his death in 2011. Finney, known for receiving the first Bitcoin transaction, has also sparked speculation about his involvement. However, there is a 38% chance that the documentary will name multiple individuals or not reveal Satoshi’s true identity, keeping the crypto world on edge.
